A family reunion precipitated George Pfoertner’s first experience with Half Moon Trail.  Since that event back in 2008, he and his family have escaped the hustle and bustle of the Chicago area to reconnect and recharge here at the resort.  For a week, George takes a break from his normal commercial photography, shooting other areas of interest: especially people and nature.  He is particularly intrigued with night photography and we have benefited from this interest with some spectacular photographs.  A gifted photographer, we feel blessed with our ongoing relationship with George and his family.  We have included a very abbreviated biography.

After studying art and photography in college, George worked for an architectural photography studio as an associate photographer and production manager.  After leaving this studio he started his own business as a freelance photojournalist for the Chicago Sun-Times, the Pioneer Press, and the Northwest Herald.  Over the years his business has diversified to include corporations, magazines, architectural, design and public relation firms.  He travels on assignments to Hong Kong, Mexico, Brazil, and throughout the United States covering a variety of subjects for this diverse mix of clients.  Since 1998 he has also worked closely with Causes for Change International, travelling to Ecuador to photograph and assist with projects in remote villages.
