Just in! We received these in the mail yesterday and are excited to offer them to our guests this summer. They are hand thrown pottery mugs from a place in St. Paul, MN. They did an excellent job with the design and they turned out even better than we had hoped. These will be a perfect fit for a steaming hot cup of joe out by the lake!
Ice Out
The last piece of ice in front of the resort was blown against the north shore of the lake and broken up with yesterday’s strong winds and warm temps. The ice usually breaks into several large pieces, then with the wave action from a strong wind, it pushes against the shore and grinds against itself. Once it is in small pieces it usually only takes a day or two to melt completely. We have included a few pictures showing how the ice has separated and broken up. The first picture was taken on Sunday morning, and the last picture was taken this morning. As an interesting comparison, here are the last couple years when the ice went out;

Spring Laundry
After countless loads of laundry over the past several days, we have nearly finished all of the spring laundry for the cabins. Every spring, we strip the cabins of all the linens (quilts, mattress pads, blankets, etc.) and give them a fresh wash. The quilts get hung in the sunshine to dry in the breeze. It’s a beautiful sight to look out and see all of the handmade quilts that Mary has made over the years. Liz is hoping to finish her first set of homemade quilts and hang them alongside the rest next spring!
